Sep. 14th, 2003 06:25 pmI write more than expected.
I written more than expected on the quiet, sleep and ice cream filled day. Big events this week would be 'Talk Like Pirate Day' (I still have to send the RVSP for the movie outing) and the Yahoo Chat with Rick Elfman. Weird that I am more familiar with his articles than with his movies (I saw Forbidden Zone once, but I was in no mood to see it. Oh well, next time).
I just wish my younger sister would calm down. Oh, wait, she's gone.
Something I've been wondering: my writer's group was talking about stereotypes in writing and life. He contends there are some prejudices that people don't let go of even when told about them, like about white Southerners ("She was a white girl from Alabama, so she was called a racist. Her black boyfriend didn't mind, though."). I can see people having them, but not trying to avoid them in writing, well, I don't see it. Funny enough, I hear more negative comments about Southerners from, um, well, people from Maryland and northern Virginia. *shrug* I managed to argue about my prejudices since I was a kid. [insert Brian voice] We are all individuals! Some segments of individuals suck more than others.
Killing Joke released a new album, and I cannot believe I didn't know. It sounds closer to their first album and What's This For? than Democracy. Dave Grohl does nicely on the drums.
So, now I have Bella Morte, Lacuna Coil, that Fela Kuti comp, and Blackeyed Peas. Yep. Confused.
