Nov. 20th, 2004 02:22 pmA mailing list is wanking over Kinsey.
Milgram's experiment was objectable, but nobody says we can't study why people follow orders by totalitarian groups.
Kinsey's methods are iffy (and I still have yet to see primary sources, so I cannot make my own conclusion), but it seems like people who object the loudest doesn't want anyone to study sexual behavior. I mean, if people know that there is homosexuality, kink, etc, everyone will want to do it. Right then.
And it is really hard to get workable set of ethics if you don't know how people really behave, particularly with sex. Especially with sex.
