Is 'well, the weather looks like shit, even if the buses are running and my work is open, and I would like to sleep more, and my nose is running, goddammit' sufficient reason to call in absent? I'm going to have to call in late at any rate. This is a pretty rare luxury for me. You know, because usually I am at the mercy of whomever I was working with.
