Apr. 5th, 2005 07:12 pmDear places I apply for employment:
I'd like an answer, thanks. Even it is 'thank you for your resume.' Frankly, I'd love to find out what is so wrong with my resume that I am not getting an answer.
I do have one idea why one place didn't reply. A health insurance company had a voice user interface position, and they have wanted 1) more experience, 2) someone local (it was in MN).
I realized that OK Cupid quizzes that try to 'debunk' all the 'conservative bashing' piss me off. Or rather they invariably have the 'shocking' fact that the words 'separation of church and state' do not appear in the Constitution. Yes, and 'God' and 'Jesus' doesn't either. You can infer from all the other documents (including letters and the Treaty of Tripoli) that while the Founding Fathers had different religious beliefs and different ideas of the roles of government, they were aware of what can happen when church and state are too damn close.
I could write a quiz making fun of these sorts, but I hate the quizzes where I know what the author wants me to say, and what I want to say is not there, made into a cliche, or based on the assumption of 'since I think the sky is blue, the people on the opposite think it is red.'
Plus, being angry about OKCupid quizzes is lame.
