Yesterday's interview went okay. The interviewers liked my answers, though there is a part of me apprehensive about working with kids. I know I am the 'kids are okay but none for me thanks' sort, but I am also a little scared of children. Very unpredictable little humans who are sometimes quite nasty and manipulative. Like leperchauns, really. :) Also, I'd have to get khakis. I'd much rather wear the uniform of their mascot than khakis, but honestly I am more worried about affording them. Maybe I'll ask Mom to take me to Old Navy (hey, they may be corporate, but they're cheap! Then again, you can defend Wal-Mart that way too. Ugh, not much of a defence)

So, I spent the rest of the day at Coolidge Corner, sampling some ice cream and yuppie prepared food, then trying crepes. I found two interesting books, 21 Dog Days (about working at Amazon) and The Nine Commandments (thesis is that the writers of the Pentuanch and other books in the Bible intended to detail the successive breaking of the Ten Commandments by Israel and the subsequent punishment). Both are interesting, both I cannot afford right. The first few paragraphs of 21 Dog Days got me, about growing up with this idea of having fantastic superpowers, and it was just a matter of time before you came into your birthright. I sometimes think that, but the flipside of that you were born with nothing of note, and that you're just here to be the deadened hands that move the machine (I cannot take credit for that metaphor) rather than a superhero. Or that you are so not-special that you cannot even be the deadened hands, just a big botch on humanity. Sorry, I didn't mean it to get that depressing.

Anyway, I've got to edit some resumes to send to different customer service jobs. Wish me luck.
