Nov. 4th, 2002 10:10 pmJoe again. I also went out to dinner last night. Don't know if you are curious about anything else.
I wobbled in lawns and playpens, played with the xylophone, rocking horse and colorful building blocks. Mom often spent days listening to jazz records, chores, feeding me and talking to people in the neighborhood. There was Suzanne, a Korean woman with children named George and Theodore; Monica, a newly married woman with two older stepchildren and a son of her named James; and Rachel, who lived alone and played with me whenever she was talking with Mom. They all smelled like soap and light perfume. Dad would occasionally come home for dinner before heading out for surgery.
For two years, it was just Mom and me, and then there was small, squalling boy named Dan.
