Nov. 14th, 2002 07:44 pmBe glad I spared you my typical a few days before my period dark moods. As opposed to my melancholy spiked with amusement, rage and longing everyday mood.
So, much to update.
Two days ago, some punk guys were on the train. In an obvious 'fake' tone of voice, they were discussing Justin Timberlake being a hip-hop pioneer, giving their kids "the Tang" with members "who pronounce their initials like names, you know, RZA (rizz-ah) and his friend GZA." They attributed the success of "the Tang" with "being friends with Jesus." They go on to compare rappers to cowboys, "because they are outlaws and you can't trust them or something. Like that song, 'Roll Out.'" At Central, a little, fussy (who looked like he sucked lemons through a straw) Enimen clone retorts "Justin Timberlake is POP!" The punk guys respond "He's hip-hop you don't stop, man!" After the clone got off, they had a semi-serious discussion about rap: "Eazy-E wakes up and says "I'm gonna write another rhyhm about fucking girls;" Ice Cube wakes up and says "I'm gonna write another rhyhm about smashing the state.""
I got some ideas for the next part of Joe's autobiography, will write it soon.
Happiness is getting quoted, or amusement at the least.
And yeah, Angel, I am reading your recent posts. It just might inspire me to get cracking on a story I've been putting off.
cris, I will participate in that meme of asking about interests real soon.
I also have ideas for icons I want to request, if only because I wanna do my own tarot card and think I ought to spruce it up.
"regeneration"
"to bring ideas down to earth so to avoid the violence hidden in abstraction" (wordy, I realize)
"haunted"
"ani ve vata"
"uncertain smile"
"you can kick any drug but writing"
"wrong planet"
No movie, music, book, or tv specific stuff, Maybe some scientists, maybe William James, maybe theologians, maybe references to the fictional characters.
