Mar. 6th, 2003 12:17 amI just realized something.
Not only am I a nerd, but my characters are nerds.
I know some folks use fictional characters as surrogates for the popularity they never had, but that is just not me.
"The main reason nerds are unpopular is that they have other things to think about. Their attention is drawn to books, or the natural world, not fashions and parties. They're like someone trying to play soccer while balancing a glass of water on his head. Other players who can focus their whole attention on the game beat them effortlessly, and wonder why they seem so incapable."

Emily is a fat girl interested in poetry, music and painting. Alice and Isabel are girls into science. Sam is into computers and noise. Jacob is a big band geek. Batsheva is just into her own opinions about music and politics. Sara, Seth and Frank had their awkward adoloscence soothed by music, as did Violetta, Bari and Caera.
Plus, do I need to get into the high school careers of a certain slash pairing?
It is almost as if I want to make life bigger than it was, but still with some link to my own.
