I got new glasses. I am still stuck on the third Les Clowns de la Mort story and typing up the second chapter of my novel.

I am fascinated by the phrase 'eats dick.' Conjures less images of oral sex than severed penises in hot dog buns. I enjoy using it in a sentence, like "LGF eats dick." Sorry, there might be a virtual treasure house of Bad Muslim stories, vital information for someone on the shitlists of many fanatics (lessee, female, sexually active, bisexual, considering conversion to Judaism, has an IQ about room temperture) but I really don't believe the commenters' protestions that their sympathies are with Arab Muslim/Palestinian people, not with their leaders. In their minds, they, although they wouldn't go so far as accusing the infants of this, are all brown-skinned Daleks out to destroy everything good and bright, with no deviations from the genetic program. Even if they seem sympathetic and tolerant, they are secretly talking about destroying, etc, in that funny Islamic language.

It sounds way too much what some people say about a certain people. You know, starts with a 'j,' rhymes with 'clues.' They really want 7000 slaves from the nations, you know. And Catholics. My mom is taking orders from the Vatican, and she's going to slaughter the Protestants real soon now. So, I don't read it. And if I say that in that little site, I am sure some of them will accuse me of having Hamas 'activists' for sleepovers. I'll bet that dark terrorist cells they are so hot about show this website to psyche up recruits. Or maybe I'm just being a mushy-headed librul.

(Sad thing, I saw the title and thought, "Oh clever metaphor for how surrounding Arab Muslim countries talk about poor Palestine and doesn't do anything other than use it as a stick to beat Israel and the US." Apparently, it refers to boogers.)

So, someone said she saw a contradiction between the supposition Bush didn't care about civilian casualities and the assertation that he is 'too Christian.'

Oh, dear. Depends on what you mean by 'Christian.'

"This evangelical sentimentalism also explains Bush's impatience with the cautious, disciplined ethics of the Christian just war tradition. It did not matter to the president that the papal emissaries pleading against a "pre-ventive/emptive" war of aggression could cite 2,000 years of Christian thought. For evangelicals like Bush, all that Christian teaching just showed that these people were spending a lot of time reading and writing books other than the Bible -- the meaning of which, he believes, is self-evident and unambiguous to anyone with a Good Heart. Apostolic traditions, systematic theologies and the like are seen as barriers between individual Christians and the Jesus who lives in your heart."

That was Fred Clark of Slacktivist. Much more coherant than I thought of. Otherwise, I would have rambled about Armageddon and the people he surrounds himself who believe in it wholeheartedly.

Scrunity is needed. Yeah, okay, they have more experience with this politics thing, but they are supposed to represent me, dammit. Clark does say in an earlier post that "This is encouraging. The war thus far has been conducted with commendable discipline and what seems a careful discrimination between Iraq's military leadership and Iraqi noncombatants and conscripts." But, you know, someone could make mistakes. Not only bad people rack up casualities, civilian and military. Causualities? Fuck that. Deaths. I am utterly surprised that media folk are shocked that soliders and people die. What the fuck did you expect, guys? That's why there are so many rules about when to declare war.

"CNN has seemed appallingly, perversely disappointed that we haven't yet seen the lethal destruction of Shock and Awe." Yes, [livejournal.com profile] atalanta, the media sucks.

Someone also told me of Bush trying to authorize new nuclear testing, hoping for suitcase nukes and grenades. Don't worry, the radiation will only affect bad people.

I decided on an experiment.

I tried to read non-Iraq news. Protests in Nigeria, an assasin in Kosovo, if I look hard enough, I can find poverty, oppression and death in other countries.

Maybe I should make a point of finding news websites for countries I want to visit. I used to read websites for different Spanish-speaking countries for a class. Maybe I should do that. And skip any articles on Iraq.

I want a hug. Or a fizzy drink.
