ramble ramble
Apr. 1st, 2003 05:09 pmLong enough to cut. Basically, tiring day, wacky thought patterns.
Yes,
erik_j_meyer, I've read your comments, and will take them into account when I revise the two posts. It did occur to me that the narrator would be questioned after she found the body. I am also replacing the camera scene with a short summary of past events, much like that scene in the Indiana Jones series where he is running after some priceless artifact.
Meanwhile, I have things to get. Somehow, the phrase 'it's not a democracy, it's a republic' annoys me, because I see a steady change from a republic to something else that will scare me, and it is often a retort when someone mentions the things that scare me. I thought about it all day.
I wanted to participate in the make fun of Lynn Cheney day thing, but I wasn't sure if anyone would get her complaining about written alphabets ("Children wanting to learn things will take tablets and read, instead of sitting enraptured by elders telling the stories of our people. That will lead to an erosion of the moral fabric!") or translating Greco-Roman texts ("Why do we need to read pagans when we have good Christian texts?"). Just think what she would have said about algerba ("Have we forgotten? The Old Man of the Mountain? The Assassins? This 'new math' is clearly a terrorist recruiting tool!")
I had nine hours of sleep, but eight hours of work makes me really, really tired.
Oh, and some information on the Unification Church. CARP was at UMass Boston. I took some sushi at one of their open houses and made of point of leaving. Real fast. That site also has information on Al-Qaeda, too.
