-Write letters to congress folks.
-Make ending for slash story, edit for unwitting modernisms (it's set in WWII, after all, and I should use 'up-to-date' slang and phrasing).
-Register with the Foreign Births Directory at the Irish Embassy (no, not the pub), look into getting an Irish passport (grandfather was born in County Cork)
-give hugs back to those who heard about my cat passing on, and more hugs to [livejournal.com profile] angelovernh because.

People I gotta read for some reason or another: Italio Calvino, Philip Marlowe, The Hours, Poul Anderson's Brainwave (correct title?). Finish reading The Avengers, Varieties of Religious Experience, more stashed away.

Oh, and I am not certain if I want to continue the AU slash/war story. See, I set the first story approximately September 1942, and a few weeks later (am I timing it too late or too early?), they find out Leon's fate. In a word, Dachau. Imagine the 'oh shit' moment that dawns over the group. See, they are generally children of European civilization. Yeah, they've heard about war, persecutation and oppression, but somewhere, there was this idea that civilization will progress, that people will move away from such things.

What do they do when they find the tools of civilization--mechanization, medical education, bureacratic language--is making genocide all that much quicker and possible. Hell, have they even a word for it now? I don't know if I can write it right. I mean, people can point to September 11th, but it seems different to me. Not "oh fuck it happened." More "oh fuck I'm next if I don't do something."
