1. When you first came out to Santa Barbara again after graduating, you said that you were too afraid to try to meet up with me. Would this still be true were you to visit again? Why or why not?

No, at the time I was not only depressed and sick, but didn't know you very well. After year or so of reading your journal I think I know you somewhat better.

2. Imagine that you are 40 years in the future, looking back on your life. What is the one thing in your life that you are most proud to have accomplished? Are you working toward that accomplishment presently? If not, why not?

A tough question, but I think I would be most proud of the ability to take the bad with the good, and turn the bad (be it character flaws or just circumstances) to my advantage. I am still working on it. I hope therapy helps with that, but in the meantime, I am writing about circumstances in my life.

3. The world is going to end tomorrow. What is the cause?

I am not sure the 'world' would end, but I can imagine the human, plant and animal population would be decimated by small to medium-sized ideological groups launching small to medium-sized nukes at each other or countries they don't like. The trigger event tomorrow would be an ICBM launched at Jerusalem.

4. How do you experience religion in your everyday life?

Constant asking what I am doing this for.

5. What do you fear? Why do you fear this?

I fear mediocrity. Somehow being told you were bright and creative for some of your childhood makes you wonder if you really are, or if the people around you are easily impressed. Not a nice thing to say, and hey, discounting people's opinions is bad, but I do fear that.
