The perils of reading a little bit of French history

No, I will not start wanking all over this thread. No. Because "OMG they surrendered LOLZ!" will only get me to spew about El Alamein, the contributions of the FFI to the push toward D-Day, with a dollop of major French-German battles in WWI.

I recognize the lack of comedy in calling them 'followers of an obsolote military doctrine with lots of domestic strife baggage.' This leaves a lot else to make fun of French military history, however. DeGaulle was often assy. Algeria was their Iraq--no, wait, they had a clear objective--and Vietnam, well, we both fucked that poodle.
And how about Haiti?
