(no subject)

The sore throat did not go away, and I was still congested enough that inflicting my co-workers with my cold was not an option. However, I left behind some tonic and ice cream, and refrigators are cleaned out today. The idea of barely eaten ice cream and tonic thrown out offended me.

So, I called and after I told my boss I wasn't coming in today, that they can have the ice cream and tonic in the fridge if they wanted it. I hope they do have it, because sucking down cough drops and feeling like a slacker isn't fun.

Status report on goals

I took notes for my written driving test and got a form. Now need to figure when to visit them

Most of the linguistics alumni from my school are working as consultants.

I also applied for a consolidation loan. See, they magically increased the amount I owe this month after I used my savings to pay them. Fuckers.

I don't know if I have the social skills for consultant, or what they are retained for.

If I wasn't so tired, I'd be looking for requirements for masters/PhD in natural languages processing. It is looking like I better refresh my phonetics and theories of grammar, and get some high-level programming languages and probability courses in. I did managed to get websites for 'best companies in Boston.' Too bad some of them are financial services and health care service that I have no business working in.
