Happy belated birthday, [livejournal.com profile] septembervirgin.

This was how I felt four years ago yesterday.

Now? I was pissed that my local IPod-like station played "Everybody Hurts" with newscasts about five years ago, along with patriotic music like . . . "Born in the USA".

They were introduced with "A song to remind us of who we are and why we continue the struggle."

Yep, I think I will either bring my long headphones or play tapes at work. Sheesh.

So, I entertained myself by imagining they were playing "Secret Lovers" about Bin Laden and Bush. Or Bush and Blair.

Then the household had a meeting, where we redivided the chores. I fell asleep to one of the new housemates playing piano.

Now, a good column from the New York Post--no, really. From LGF Watch.

It's time for our own fanatics to look in the mirror. Hard. (And stop sending me your trash. I'll never sign up for your "Protocols of the Elders of Mecca." You're just the Ku Klux Klan with higher-thread-count sheets.)

I discovered a new poet from a book I picked up from [livejournal.com profile] ragingamazon.

Meet Renee Vivien. Unfortunately, I cannot read French. I guess I will have to learn fast.
