Perhaps I will not again for a while. I've been ruminating about this since I had my check-up and it turned out later than I thought it was.

What I learned from Usenet:

1) Assembly programmers have such bitchy flame wars. Bitchier than fanfic writers, if that was possible. I've read more composed OS flame wars than the thread on assemblers.

2) I'm a weak-willed conformist because I decided that I rather take psych drugs and get some stuff done in between bouts of despair rather than sit around and be in a drug-free void of despair. Also, because I see a therapist, I am supporting TEH EVUL PSYCHS, and the Church of Scientology is in no way involved in this statement, nuh uh. For some reason, these are in the alt.support.[attention-deficit-disorder | depression]. Because people who read this for help really want to hear that all their problems is because they are lazy and stupid.

3) Don't go into groups for supporting shy people--they are full of speed seduction spam (which seems to pass as social skills training there). The non-spam is mostly guys whining about how girls are emotional children who date good-looking, socially adept assholes rather than nice and shy guys like them. Somehow, they fail to see the connection between these statements.

They also talk about which races are the 'easiest' and how if women ran the world, 'we'd still be living in caves.' Apparently, they forgot who was usually involved in the housekeeping, cooking, brewing, weaving, farming, and well, child-rearing.

4) Google Groups is the AOL of the millenium. Some filter posts from Google Groups. Good. More reason not to post.

Also:

I have done more research on that language and mathematics thing. I did get a list of people researching things like logic, children's sense of number, dyscalculia, and words for numbers. And the brain. It all comes back to the brain.

So, that will mean some books to read. That is, if I can finish that copy of Piaget I have.
