I am a fangirl.

I now have both Neil Gaiman and Warren Ellis in the big old watched journals list.

Someone once told me "Dear Prudence" was written to a woman freaking out on acid, in order to calm her down. It could be utter baloney, like that [insert rock musician here] and the stomach pump thing.

Sometimes I get obsessed over a subject, and there is one aspect of
it that annoys me. I am not talking the flaming incidents of rage that current events bring out in me, but just this 'this would all be wonderful if it weren't for that" sense of annoyance.

I've been thinking of the words from other languages section of my
fanfiction and linguistics essay. First thing to do is to get a hold
of what style guides say (the only person I know who speaks about it is George Orwell in "Politics and the English Language" and he
advised against using other language phrases as political jargon, among other things). Next to see if there are any otaku/manga/anime glossaries out there. Orson Scott Card also advised against 'alien' phrases unless it is used for something specific to that culture that Terran languages don't have a word for.

Perhaps if I had time, I can help out with lifeliberty.info, which
sets out to refut lifeliberty.gov. Since March, I had this low, blowing anger, but other than signing some petitions and registering to vote in Milton, I really don't know what else I can do, what with the chasing after weird literary dreams and work.

The ability to change for the better vs. the necessity of habit, on a political and personal scale--changing patterns that do not work.

One more hour until I leave. I took a walk around the building after
lunch, and it felt good. Singing after work will feel good. Then I think, "I forgot to drink water!" Whoopie. I get a bottled water.
