Why Object of My Affection stinks.

An interesting book

A digital movie satirizing the Americanization of tantra (and an unsuccessful poly couple)

Just looks appealing

On the other hand . . .

Guy reads page about polamory, gives negative opinion. I disagree, but the page he cites annoys me. Clear arguments about polyamory are good things, everyone. Further down, he rants about the bad protrayal of business in Hollywood films. Of course, being that multimedia companies are a business like any others, they have stockholders too. Most of the time, they get value for their stock holders by making the movies that raise social conservatives' hackles. Yeah, I realize the irony of a largely unregulated business critizing, well, other businesses. Hell, considering the legal professions' stake in the media, all those negative protrayals of lawyers are weird.

I also tried to find a link to a post from a Catholic blogger saying gay marriage will make marriage less of a sacrament *growls under breath "What about other religions that consider same-sex unions as sacred as opposite-sex unions, dammit. You're stepping on their rights to have those unions considered as eligible for federal perks as, which is darn close to saying their rituals are illegiminate. Oops, is that violating their 1st Amendment rights?"*. One of the comments notes that they "can't go around telling gays not to have sterile sex while the straights have it." Yeah, can't keep couples together, can't keep infertile people or people who don't want children from marrying and can't take children of single parents away into coupled homes. May as well pick on the same-sex unions. Because people only get married to have babies. *nods safely*
