Aug. 26th, 2004 02:39 pmToday I realized that there were some things I didn't know about libraries, like when are records to be opened (Some states requires a warrant or subpoena to do that; otherwise library records are private, including between co-workers). Thing is, a patron gets banned from the library for violent behavior, but I have no clue how he gets the one copy of the Ye Old Creepie Booke of Dark Magick. Theft is the obvious answer, but there are probably stuff like motion sensors and video cameras (then again, is it possible that may not be used because of possible violation of patron privacy?. One other idea is the person can use other people's library card, which will get him into trouble, but hey. However, the guy is, ahem, physically distinctive.
I supposed at least one person on my flist knows more about it. If I didn't care about one of them saying "Uh, waitasec, librarians can't do that," then I would just write any old junk.
