Feb. 13th, 2005 11:29 amThe ride home last night was a lot like the situation a number of my techie friends are facing.
All the major roads are closed, clueless assholes block their way unaware and unaffected, the road signs don't lead to where you want to go, you are in danger of hitting dead ends and going through sleazy and scary parts, and no one gives you much warning. I feel bad leaning on them for emotional support and I cannot seem to make their way easier.
It reminds me how I want to help certain people, but can't do much except give suggestions and job leads.
At least I met people. I got in touch with a linguist specializing in ASL acquistion and someone I lost contact information for who works in a company I want to work for (but as what, I am not sure). I saw people I haven't seen in a while.
