Nov. 22nd, 2005 10:44 pmI have more gaps in my technical support knowledge than I'd like. I do better in the A+ OS test than in the A+ Core test. I suspect because I am not as apt at remembering which connectors and processors have what pins and what not. Hexadecimals are also a pain. I managed to find some free quizzes, but I wonder how much I will need to study before I get comfortable. Plus, hey, should I spend a hundred bucks to get practice test software with instant feedback? Getting a 100 twice would be be a good start, but stick to the free practice tests, or fork it over?
A water main near work broke yesterday, so no flushing toilets or running water in all of Hingham. Gah. Had to hold it in until I got out of the town.
I took notes for a meeting today because no one else would. Actually, I wrote what I remembered of the meeting in a Word document. I got high praise for it. Maybe because I tried to state her repeated concerns about morale as politely as possible. That meant I left out my own opinions (consisting of 'Let me out of here!' and 'Screw Flanders' written 1000 times) I was this close to making my screen saver say "The beatings will continue until morale improves."
If an interviewer for a job you didn't get mentioned future openings, when is the best time to call and follow up on hints of more job openings?
Rude acquaintances suck.
Soon, I must get my hair cut. Should I also get my hair dyed a dark auburn?
If not, I am really wondering if I should go to Northern California and have informational interviews with the speech recognition/NLP companies there. I have to wonder what work I can do recently to show I know my stuff? Should I wait until I get a driver's license before such a move? Oh well, wait until I finish the A+ certification and the comic book.
I tried to meditate in college, but often got distracted. I'm going to try again. Maybe then I know what I'm supposed to be doing?
