why I have not spoken in a while
Feb. 17th, 2011 08:00 pmI got a lot on my mind, but haven't told many about it.
My birthday present to my brother was getting his I-Pod fixed. I have to go to the Post Office to package it and send it to the repair place.
I have to submit my health insurance information to the people doing taxes, since I forgot that last Saturday. My refund is pretty much stuck until I do.
My room is making me claustrophobic. I have to clear out the trash, paper, bottles and cans from the room.
I want to see a friend before his birthday, because he may spend that with family.
I have not seen another friend since January.
I have to finish the feature context-free grammar and Python code for homework by the 23rd. I will need to test Python code in the interpreter, since I am still learning the language.
I missed yesterday's class, so I have to listen to the recording to see if it can help me with homework.
Someone invited me to dinner on Friday. I had to say no because my skin is itchy even after the things I bought.
There is an internal job posting that I want to apply for. I want to demonstrate I can use the resources I have available to do the work. The project will be comparing word counts in their job posting to word counts in papers I wrote. I will write a report on more things that could be done with the data to show that I am the right person for the job. Anyway, I need to edit text so it is all lower-case and easy to count. I need to distinguish between stop words and other words. Lastly, I need to compare word counts.
First, though, I need to send the job listing to my boss and see if she has anything to say about me applying.
I need to finish a programming puzzle for another job opening I am applying for. I am not sure whether to do it letter-by-letter, use a trie structure, use two word combinations to find valid words, or something else.
I wrote an introduction for a small portfolio that I wanted to show people I know who work at companies I want to join. I want to get their feedback and make sure that I am someone they want to use as a reference. I need to edit the introduction, take out company-only terminology, and add more explanations. Then, send it to them and see what they think.
In addition to all things I have to do, my skin itches all over. It may be winter, and it may be the cold air that comes on when fans turn on in the work building for some bizarre reason. I just know that I couldn't sleep last night because I was so itchy. I need to wash bed sheets and vacuum the room. I got some sensitive skin cream on my break. It works for some things, but not for others.
I need to wash pants for work next week. I missed my bathroom chore last week, so I have to do it before Sunday.
I also have to make up the one hour I used for FMLA and work OT on Saturday. I mean, I said I would. Plus, since I had so much trouble starting up this morning, my work suffered. I have to bring it back up some way.
None of this in any order. This is because everything seems so urgent and there is no way for me to dial it down. I keep thinking that people will wonder why I am so unreachable. So, I am writing this.
Since I get distracted if I read and write mail while doing homework, I cannot do that tonight. I will also need to pay the phone and credit card bill, and change payment for the anti-virus program, but I would get distracted if I did that.
I also need to get refunds from last year and for this year from my HSA.
