Fic ideas that should not be
Aug. 12th, 2003 04:58 pmThought of doing a Tam Lin style story starring a certain same-sex pairing, but there are some problems with historical accuracy. It is set in Scotland, and I had the idea of Medieval!Danny running away from expulsion in 1290, before the abducted by the queen of the fae thing. Problem, what the hell is he doing in Scotland? And Burton is not a Scottish surname.
Also, to be really true to the original, I'd have to have mpreg. No thanks.
Meanwhile, I will read fairy tale retelling of Pride and Prejudice.

Aug. 12th, 2003 05:39 pmI am indifferent today. Yeah, not enough sleep, had a headache earlier, left work after 8 hours, slightly annoyed at some vague thing, yet still hopeful.
Odd set of emotions.
Found my copy of The Language Instinct, used in one or two intro to linguistics courses. Now as a sort of reminder of what I got my degree in. I did manage to find some pages on second language acquisition. See, Mary Sues tend to speak lots of languages, and I want to make the acquiring of multiple languages somewhat realistic in fiction. I think I will have to look up some bits about second language pedagogy.
