Last night: We arrived at my aunt's house three hours late. This is especially funny since it is a ten minute drive. A record!

At least people liked my cards, they had beer I liked, a decent mushroom ravoli and chicken marsala. I got gifts too, but I most like playing with the smaller kids, overhearing conversations (there are all sort of things that aunts and uncles are comfortable talking about now that three of us are over 21) and finding my family (including my younger sister's boyfriend) downstairs at the bar talking. I was good, though; I stuck to a certain amount and switched to soda.

Now, my younger sister, her boyfriend and my brother are watching Shaun of the Dead. My youngest sister is done pouting about my mom's boyfriend's kids getting more gifts than her and playing with her stuff. I had cheesy eggs and pancakes and debating whether or not to wear a long sleeve t-shirt with a little man writing with the caption 'Write On.'

However, I am sure I need to do stuff: write more of the Clowns story, more of the comic script, and er, stuff.

I had some nice snacks and conversation at a local friend's house, a good meal, and saw House of Flying Daggers. Yeah, I got presents, but it was mostly clothing, a mug with notes and a pen, a Rocky Horror DVD, and a CD carrier case. Oh, and gift certificates and cash.

I can say it was a good day, even if I got a blinding headache in the middle of dinner. It was especially good when my hosts gave me headache medicine and a place to lie down.

So, Merry Christmas/Chinese Restaurant Appreciation Day. If you can have fun despite the expectations to have the best time ever today, then you've done well indeed.
